Brush and brushless electric RC Motors

Electric RC airplanes are the new trend in RC aviation. They are so much more practical than gas powered remote control aircraft. They are safe, lightweight, clean, and can be flown in the park nearby.

There is no more gas residue to clean up or drive to the model park.
Plus, flying rc boat parts is a lot of fun, and with a bit of information from this article, you'll be
flying like a professional in no time.

So, it is a great idea for beginners to choose an electric motor because of the advantages mentioned
above. This type is also beneficial if you need a plane that you can use in a public area since it is
quieter than RC planes with an internal combustion engine. However, if you like the smell of burning
fuel and the noise, then the internal combustion engine may be just what you need.

Brush and brushless electric RC Motors

When looking for RC electric motors in a hobby store or online, you will find two main differences. The
cheaper brushed motors come with many aircraft, and there are the more expensive brushless motors.
Brushless motors come in different shapes and sizes. There are also two types of brushless motors -
regular motors and outrunner motors. In a regular brushless motor, the shaft is connected to the
armature, and both rotate inside the housing, which remains stationary. In a brushless outrunner motor,
the armature remains stationary, and the shaft rotates with the housing to which it is connected.

The critical thing to remember about brushed and brushless motors is that you need the appropriate
electronic speed control. That is, a brushed motor must be connected to a speed controller for a
brushed motor, and a brushless motor must be linked to a speed controller for a brushless motor.

The difference between brushed and brushless electronic speed controllers can be easily seen
because the brushed version has two wires in the lead to the motor, and the brushless has three.

RC Airplanes With a Combustion Engine

Those used to flying different remote control planes opt for the internal combustion type. This one
requires a lot of accessories as the engine needs to be maintained and started. The high fuel cost and
noise level are some of the disadvantages of this type of propulsion. They are also large and more
expensive than powered aircraft. In return, they offer smooth flight and excellent performance.

If you decide to buy a gas plane, make sure you are a member of a club with an area for such planes,
as they are pretty noisy.
